Stereo controls on master - The master channel has equal power stereo controls (for collapsing to mono or anything between), or to adjust the balance of the stereo spread.Meter ballistics are configurable per-channel.Metering point is more flexible - A meter point can be setup and put pre/post fader or at any point in the plugin signal flow as desired.Pan is movement is editable - You can bias the pan to one direction or the other if necesseary.Channels can be made narrow on a per-track basis.I/O, Monitoring and polarity inversion is always visible.Obviously mixbus comes with its own setup as I described before.Īrdour in my view has some benefits though. NightliesĪ big difference between Ardour and Mixbus is the mixer. Overall the setup is much better in Ardour I feel. There’s other examples that I’ve encountered, but I think that is sufficient to get my point across.Īrdour also allows having a track being controlled by multiple VCAs like Mixbus. Sometimes I’ll have the whole choir, a soloist section, and each solist individually miced. A choir is another single ‘instrument’ with multiple multi-miced “instruments”.I will often want to automate the drums as a whole kit, but need to control multiple snare tracks (2-3 mics on a snare) as well. A drumkit is a single instrument that has many single instruments that may be recorded with multiple microphones. This workflow is fantastic when you’re working with instruments that contain multiple tracks of single instruments. It’s become somewhat of a joke during this review (in my discussions with other folks) that I really prefer the ability to assign a VCA to another VCA. LOOK! LOOK!! I’m assigning a VCA to a VCA. Review of Mixbus instruments and MIDI plugins.I won’t be covering all of the differences between Mixbus and Ardour, but I will cover what I feel is fairly important.įirst check over the other posts I’ve written about Mixbus and Ardour. ![]() So I’m going to take a moment and give a very short review of Ardour and explain some differences from the Mixbus review I did. According to my time sink logs I’ve spent about 60 hours in Ardour working on a project, and looking at the differences between the current version 5.12. I previously started a review with Ardour, and stopped due to some issues that made it not possible for me to work efficiently.Ĭlearly, as I’ve been using Mixbus 4.1/4.2, Ardour is up to the task of being used and I have been using it. You may also know that Mixbus is based upon Ardour, an open source DAW. If you follow this blog then you’d know that I’ve been reviewing mixbus for “30 days” (more like 2.5 months). In addition to a wide variety of restaurants, hotels, shops, and a modern BRT transport system ( Transmetro), the city is home to many art galleries, theaters, sports venues and museums (including some fine collections of Pre-Columbian art) and provides a growing number of cultural offerings. The city, with its robust economy, attracts hundreds of thousands of rural migrants from Guatemala's interior hinterlands and serves as the main entry point for most foreign immigrants seeking to settle in Guatemala. The city also functions as Guatemala's main transportation hub, hosting an international airport, La Aurora International Airport, and serving as the origination or end points for most of Guatemala's major highways. Guatemala City serves as the economic, governmental, and cultural epicenter of the nation of Guatemala. Guatemala City continues to be subject to natural disasters, with the latest being the two disasters that struck in May 2010: the eruption of the Pacaya volcano and, two days later, the torrential downpours from Tropical Storm Agatha. Under President Jorge Ubico in the 1930s a hippodrome and many new public buildings were constructed, although slums that had formed after the 1917–1918 earthquakes continued to lack basic amenities. Earthquakes in 1917–1918 destroyed many historic structures. At this time the city was expanding around the 30 de Junio Boulevard and elsewhere, displacing native settlements on the peripheries of the growing city. The 19th century saw the construction of the monumental Carrera Theater in the 1850s, and the modern-day Presidential Palace in the 1890s. After Central American independence from Spain the city became the capital of the United Provinces of Central America in 1821. During this period the central plaza, with the Cathedral of Guatemala City and the Palace of the Captain-General, were constructed. This small town was made the capital city of the Captaincy General of Guatemala by the Spanish royal authorities in 1775 after a series of devastating earthquakes had left the old capital city, Antigua Guatemala, in ruins and unusable to the Spanish colonial authorities. ĭuring the Spanish conquest of Guatemala, settlers coming after the conquistador Pedro de Alvarado established a small town about 1 km south of the old ruins of Kaminaljuyu. ![]() Kaminaljuyu then collapsed around 300 AD for unknown causes. This large Maya settlement, the biggest outside the Maya lowlands in the Yucatan Peninsula, rose to prominence around 300 BC due to an increase in mining and trading of obsidian, a valuable commodity for the pre-Columbian civilizations in Mesoamerica. Human settlement on the present site of Guatemala City began with the Maya, who built a large ceremonial center at Kaminaljuyu. ![]() ![]() Main articles: History of Guatemala City and Timeline of Guatemala City Today, Guatemala City is the political, cultural, and economic center of Guatemala. Reconstructions following the earthquakes have resulted in a more modern architectural landscape. Guatemala City and the original location in Antigua Guatemala were almost completely destroyed by the 1917–18 earthquakes. The city was originally located in what is now Antigua Guatemala, and was moved to its current location in 1777. In 1847, Guatemala declared itself an independent republic, with Guatemala City as its capital. In 1821, Guatemala City was the scene of the declaration of independence of Central America from Spain, after which it became the capital of the newly established United Provinces of Central America (later the Federal Republic of Central America). Following the Spanish conquest, a new town was established, and in 1776 it was made capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala. Guatemala City is the site of the Mayan city of Kaminaljuyu, founded around 1500 BC. The city is the capital of the Municipality of Guatemala and of the Guatemala Department. Other common options allow for setting the resultant node positions using animation. For example, many layouts have options to control how close nodes are to one another. These options allow you to configure how the layout runs by tuning the layout algorithm’s parameters. The set of options differs from layout to layout. Because a layout takes a set of elements as input, a layout can be used on the entire graph or on a subgraph ( cy.layout() versus eles.layout()). For example, many layouts will organise nodes such that each node is in close proximity to its neighbourhood. Passed edges provide the layout with topology that can help to determine where nodes should be placed. Each node that is passed to a layout is positioned by the layout. The set of nodes of edges, or collection, passed to a layout indicates which graph elements should be considered in the layout. A layout takes as input a set of nodes and edges along with a set of options. Layout definitionĪ layout is simply a mapping function: It maps a node to a position. This tutorial gives an overview of how to use layouts generally and when each layout is useful specifically. The choice of which particular layout to use is key, but equally important is the choice of how and when to use a layout.Ĭytoscape supports several layouts, and it supports using layouts in several ways. A good layout can give a comprehensive view of the data. One of the first things to decide when visualising a graph is how lay out the nodes on the screen. Builtin layouts versus external extensions.Note: up to that last line we specified exactly no rendering or geometry information! By changing the name of the renderer from cola to one of the built-ins ( circle or cose are fun to play with!) you can get a completely different outout.Īs a last remark I strongly recommend to have a look at the graph theoretical and practical routines and algorithms the Cytoscape.js library has to offer. Line 71 finally kicks off the layout rendering. Lines 56 to 70 define the Cytoscape container and attach dynamic properties to the nodes and edges. Lines 8 to 54 define the edges in a similar way. Lines 2 to 7 define the nodes with their name/caption and colour. ,Ĭontainer: document.getElementById('cy'), The remainder of the index.html file consists of a script: var elems = [ The HTML body contains a div to render the graph into: And this are the two libraries and an adaptor to use Cola.js from within Cytoscape.js: Once again we start by including the stuff needed. The complete source code can be found in the GitHub repository. And manipulating the arrangement should not affect nodes not touched. While it’s big fun wobbling and dragging around nodes in a real application you would always like to see the same graph when reloading the same data. These two feature result from the way Cola.js renders the graph and are very useful for real world applications. When reloading this page you will always see the same arrangement of nodes. ![]() When dragging around a single node all the other nodes of the graph remain calm and don’t wiggle around like in most physical based layouts. When playing around with this graph you will probably notice two things: In this context, we will use it only as a layout engine for the graph. Cola is a constraint based layout library with some very interesting features. ![]() It comes with some layout renderers but is open to other visualization libraries such as Cola.js. Leandro Barbosa/Rodney Rogers/Danny Manning/Eddie JohnsonĪll four of these super-subs make the honorable mentions because they each won the Sixth Man of the Year Award during their stint in Phoenix. The following Phoenix Suns players don't crack the top 15 for various reasons, but they were some of the best in franchise history, regardless. This section is subjective, but each player's best season will be decided by a mixture of individual stats as well as team performance. This is partly a sub-section of "individual accolades," but each player on the list will have a section noting their best season as a Sun. As a result, integral members of those teams will get credit for doing so.Īlso, members of Suns teams that were repeatedly competing in the playoffs will receive more recognition than players who weren't a part of much team success. To reiterate, players like Shaquille O’Neal and Grant Hill won’t make the list because their respective careers were coming to an end when they landed in Phoenix. For the purpose of this list, he’s a six-time All-Star. So while Steve Nash is an eight-time NBA All-Star, six of those All-Star nods occurred in a Suns uniform. The top-15 Phoenix Suns players of all time will be ranked by a collection of the following criteria:īecause these guys are supposed to be the 15 best in Suns franchise history, they must have a history in Phoenix.
